Education is the foundation for change, and it is essential to teach current and future generations about the importance of preserving our natural world and caring for all animals. Happy Hollow brings these lessons to life in ways that are unique, hands-on and so much fun.
Donations to Happy Hollow Foundation allow thousands of children from under-resourced schools to engage in virtual and in-person life science lessons featuring live animals right at their school. Our education program also includes fully funded field trips to Happy Hollow for Title I schools. Your support gives children fun and educational opportunities they may not otherwise have. Look at what we accomplished just last year!
~ Mrs. Canela, Elementary School Teacher
Happy Hollow Foundation funds free field trips for Title I elementary schools. Within three miles of the park and zoo, there are 17 such schools – and despite living right in the neighborhood, many of these students have never had the chance to visit this wonderful place.
To ensure that field trip participants get the most out of their experience, the foundation funds admission for students, teachers and chaperones; bus transportation to and from Happy Hollow; and an educational assembly featuring Happy Hollow’s incredible animal ambassadors. Thanks to our supporters, these children get the opportunity to play and learn in our happy little corner of San José.
