GENERAL FAQ

Are reservations required? 
Reservations are no longer required, but are highly recommended for quick park entry! Discounted tickets for reciprocal members, military and seniors must be purchased in person and have valid forms of ID presented. Happy Hollow members can now visit with just their membership card and ID.

What does admission include? 
A ticket to Happy Hollow is all-inclusive fun for all ages, including unlimited rides, two zoo areas, playgrounds and picnic tables, and any scheduled entertainment, such as zookeeper talks.

What do I need to bring the day of my visit? 
On the day of your visit, remember to bring your reservation tickets, proof of membership (for members), and a valid ID card.

I have a membership with another zoo or aquarium that Happy Hollow reciprocates with. Can I use my reciprocal membership benefit for discounted admission to Happy Hollow? 
Yes! Discounted tickets for reciprocal members must be purchased in person. The membership card and valid forms of ID must be presented. The Name of the adult on the membership card must match the name on the ID. Discount can be applied t0 (2) named adults and up to 4 children. Group memberships do not apply.

Do guests with Military and Senior ID’s qualify for discounted admission to Happy Hollow? 
Yes! Discounted tickets for military and seniors must be purchased in person and have valid forms of ID presented.

How can I support Happy Hollow?

Can I bring food and drinks?
Individual “brown-bag” picnics and snacks are allowed, and seating is available inside the park. Coolers and commercially prepared food are prohibited inside Happy Hollow, but there are picnic tables located directly outside the park adjacent to the parking lots. If you leave the park and plan to return, remember to have your hand stamped for reentry.

Is Happy Hollow open rain or shine?
On occasion, Happy Hollow will close temporarily for inclement weather, including rain, poor air quality and high winds. Please check www.happyhollow.org for updates the day of your visit.

Do you have a Lost and Found area?
Yes! You can report lost or found items to Guest Services, which is located near the Entry Plaza. You may also contact 408-794-6400 or [email protected]

Where do I park?
Guest parking is available at 748 Story Road, San José, CA 95112. Guests must either display an annual parking pass or pay at the pay station and display the receipt on their dashboard. Parking fees are enforced daily during all Kelley Park open hours. Parking passes are valid for all City of San Jose Reginal Parks. Annual parking passes are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

If you are visiting the Happy Hollow Administration building, please park at 1300 Senter Road.

Can I bring my pet?
Pets, comfort animals, and emotional support animals are not permitted at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, which is home to rare and endangered species. All grounds of the park and zoo are considered quarantined facilities, and state and federal regulations prohibit pets, comfort animals or emotional support animals accompanying guests. Please see our Park & Zoo policies.

What about service animals?
Service animals are welcome at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo. They must remain on a leash or harness at all times and may not be left unattended. Service animals must remain a reasonable distance from animals inside the zoo areas of Happy Hollow. This is best accomplished by maintaining a minimum of six feet between your service animal and zoo animals.

Guests with service animals may be asked to leave the facility if the service animal’s behavior becomes a threat to the safety or well- being of guests or zoo animals. Guests are required to clean up after their service animals.

Can I smoke or vape at Happy Hollow?
Happy Hollow Park & Zoo is a smoke and vape-free facility.

Can one member of my party hold a space in the ride lines for an entire party?
To allow all guests the equal opportunity to ride, there is no spot saving or line cutting under any circumstance. All riders must be in line at all times to access rides. The ride operator may ask you to step out of line if you are spot saving or line cutting.

Do you have stroller or wheelchair rentals?
Yes! Visit the Explore & More store for details. First come, first serve.

What is the latest I could enter the park and zoo?
Admissions and membership sales end 30 mins prior to closing. Members may enter at anytime during operational hours with a valid membership card and ID.
