Happy Hollow Park & Zoo is dedicated to serving local community members by providing more equal access to conservation, education and play. A portion of every admission ticket goes towards new events, activities, play areas, and tools to allow everyone in the community the opportunity to enjoy Happy Hollow.

The program also allows individuals and families with financial and special needs to apply for an eligibility card to purchase tickets to Happy Hollow at a reduced rate.

How do I apply?

You can apply at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo in the Guest Services office, located near the entrance.

Residents enrolled in the Citywide Scholarship Program automatically qualify.

The City of San José’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services’ Citywide Scholarship Program will ensure that qualifying San José residents will have access to participation in department programs, classes, and activities. The scholarship is open to people 0 – 49 years of age, Active Adults and All Access participants.

All requests are subject to available funding and qualifications.

Submit the completed application to any Community Center.

How long does the Access for All eligibility card last?

If approved, you can receive up to four (4) tickets per visit at a discounted rate through the end of the year, ending on Dec. 31. All applicants must re-apply every year (starting Jan. 1) with updated eligibility documents.

What other discounts apply?

Through the Citywide Scholarship program, you can also receive discounts on Happy Hollow education classes and camps.
