Meet Misti the Capuchin monkey

Meet Happy Hollow’s oldest primate, Misti. Misti is 37, and despite some skin issues (which we have been carefully monitoring and treating) she is in great health. This feisty little capuchin monkey is enjoying the cold weather inside our climate controlled Doc’s Critter Care building. The Happy Hollow animal care staff love reading her books, showing her videos, and providing lots of enrichment to give her a mentally and physically stimulating environment while she is off exhibit.

One of Misti’s favorite enrichment activities is cracking open eggs.

These photos are from Misti’s annual veterinary examination. During her annual exam, the vet administered routine vaccinations, medicated skin ointment and did a thorough check for any abnormalities. It’s not always easy getting older, but the Happy Hollow zoo team pour their hearts into providing excellent compassionate care for each and every animal.
