Congratulations to the winners of the Story to Stage children’s writing contest!

In 2019, Happy Hollow Park & Zoo and the San José Public Library partnered to present a joint writing contest, Story to Stage. The contest was open to fifth graders and below and the prompt was to write an original story about the Happy Hollow mascot, Danny the Dragon. The winning story will inspire a new puppet show at the Happy Hollow Puppet Castle Theater. 

1st Place – Sosi K. “The Carousel Crisis”

2nd Place – Elise M. “Danny’s Dilemma” 

3rd Place – Danae V. “Danny’s Special Cup”
