Retirement in the Hollow

Caring for older animals is just part of keeping animals, and growing old in a zoo environment has its advantages.

At Happy Hollow, we make a lifelong commitment to each and every animal. Geriatric zoo animals remain in their habitats, or the expert animal care team provides areas off exhibit, where retired animals can live out their lives in comfort. 

The Happy Hollow animal care team implement care of elderly animals in much the same way that we aspire to receive care from medical professionals and caregivers as we age by providing top quality veterinary care, nutrition, socialization, enrichment and more.
