Parking for Happy Hollow Park & Zoo is located on Story Road at Remillard. 

Parking Prices

  • Daily Parking - $10.00 
  • Annual Parking Pass - $80.00
  • Annual Discount Parking Pass - $30.00 (for Senior/Military/Disabled)

When our parking booths are not open, guests will be required to pay at the pay station and display the receipt on their dashboard. Parking fees will be enforced daily, during all Kelley Park open hours.

Are you eligible for a discounted parking rate?
Guests eligible for our discounted parking rate will need to pre-register for a Discount Card. This can be done by turning in an application and proof of discount eligibility to Happy Hollow Guest Services or the Parks Office located at the Leininger Center during normal business hours. Applications are available online at or in person at the Parks Office or at Happy Hollow Guest Services.

Directions to Happy Hollow:

 Directions From Highway 280 South

  • Take the 10th/11th Street exit.
  • Turn right onto 10th Street at the bottom of the off ramp.
  • Turn left on Keyes Street.
  • Keyes Street turns into Story Road at the Senter Road light
  • Turn right into the parking lot at Remillard

 Directions From Highway 680 South/Highway 280 North

  • After crossing 101, 680 becomes 280 North.
  • Take the 10th/11th Streets exit.
  • Turn left at the second light onto 10th Street.
  • Turn left onto Keyes Street.
  • Keyes Street turns into Story Road at the Senter Road light
  • Turn right into the parking lot at Remillard

 Directions From Highways 17, 87, and 880

  • Take Highway 280 South and follow directions "From Highway 280 South".

 Directions From Highway 101

  • Take the Story Road exit West.
  • Turn left into the parking lot at Remillard

Alternative Transportation:

  • VTA bus #73 and #25 provide convenient and frequent bus service that stops in front of Happy Hollow Park & Zoo.
  • Light Rail stops at the Tamien Station with frequent VTA bus connections (#82, transfer to #25)
  • Bicycle racks are provided FREE of charge at the entrance to Happy Hollow Park & Zoo.
  • Cal Train stops at Tamien Cal Train Station with frequent VTA bus connections (#82, transfer to #25).


Admission includes all rides - unlimited, puppet theatre productions, playgrounds, upper and lower Zoo experiences, and scheduled entertainment.

Guests, who wish to leave the park and return the same day, must have their hand stamped prior to exit. To re-enter the guest must show their ticket and hand stamp.  Guests may also re-enter the parking lot without charge by showing your parking receipt from the same day.

Guest with Disabilities:

Happy Hollow Park & Zoo’s facilities meet or exceed all the standards set by the America Disabilities Associations. Our newly remodeled Explore and More Store, Puppet Castle Theater, Picnic Basket Restaurant, and all of our Restrooms are Handicap and Wheel Chair Accessible.

The safety of our guests is a top priority here at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, therefore we maintain a strict rides policy. Riders must meet all ride requirements, including height, weight, and age restrictions. It is imperative that all riders be able to maintain a correct riding position for the duration of the ride. Attendants may accompany disabled riders provided they meet all ride requirements. Team members will not be able to physically assist any guest on or off a ride; please make sure another member of your party is available should assistance be needed.

For guest(s) with disabilities that prevent them from waiting in line, we do provide ride access through the exit gates to those rides with an extended wait for the disabled guest and their immediate family. Wrist bands are required to exit entry and can be obtained through Guest Services located at the front gate. For more information please contact Guest and Member Services at (408) 794-6400.


Service Animals:

Service animals are welcome at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo. The following guidelines will help you enjoy your visit with your service animal.
All Service animals must remain on a leash or harness at all times and you may not leave your service animal unattended. Service animals must remain a reasonable distance from Happy Hollows animals. This is best accomplished by maintaining a minimum of six feet between your service animal and Happy Hollow Zoo animals. You are responsible for controlling your service animal's behavior. If at any time your animal's behavior becomes a threat to the safety or well being of our guests, you will be asked to leave the facility. Remember, you are responsible for cleaning up after your assistance animal. Service animals may ride on Danny the Dragon and Keep Around Carousel.



Wide assortments of delicious and healthy choices are available for all ages. Entrees, sandwiches, salads, and desserts are conveniently located in the Picnic Basket Restaurant.

Food & Beverage Policy
The Picnic Basket Restaurant and vending machine is centrally located inside the park. Hard and soft coolers as well as commercially prepared foods may not be brought inside Happy Hollow. Homemade, individual brown bagged lunches will be allowed in the park. For your convenience, picnic areas are available outside the park adjacent to the parking lots. If leaving the park to enjoy your food, please have your hand stamped for re-entry. Due to space limitations and health regulations, Happy Hollow Park & Zoo cannot store or refrigerate any food items.



The Explore and More Store offers a selection of custom Happy Hollow apparel and hats, puppets, games, snacks, plush toys, and much more.

Guest & Member Services is located just inside the park to the right of the Main Entrance.

Lost and Found
Visit Guest & Member Services inside and just right of the entrance turnstiles to report lost and found items. Happy Hollow Park & Zoo is not responsible for lost, missing or stolen personal property. Send us an email for any Lost and Found inquiries: [email protected]


Wheelchair/Stroller Rental:

Wheelchair and stroller rental is located inside and to the left of the entrance turnstiles at the far end of the Explore and More store. Wheel Chairs and strollers are available of a first come / first serve basis and quantities are limited.



Single use lockers are available for a small fee and are conveniently located adjacent to the restrooms at the front of the park and near the Puppet Castle Theater. (Lockers operate by tokens, which can be purchased at the Admissions windows)


Recreation & Sound Equipment:

Recreation and sound equipment is not permitted within Happy Hollow and may not be stored with park staff. Bike racks are conveniently located outside the turnstiles in the Entry plaza.



Happy Hollow Park and Zoo is a smoke free facility. Please see San Jose City Ordinance 13.44.130 for more details.


Ride Requirements:

Happy Hollow has new rides that will be sure to delight all ages. Please be aware of the height requirements and other restrictions for each ride. In some case an adult will be required to ride with a child that doesn’t meet the minimum height requirements.

  • 1. Low Thrill Ride - Rides that are generally calm and gentle in nature.
  • 2. Mild Thrill Ride - Rides that generally have low speeds with gentle motion and braking. Rides have smooth transitions with some changes in elevation and speed.


  • 1 All unescorted riders must have adequate head and neck control and be able to sit unsupported in an upright position
  • 2 Adult Escort must be at least 16 years old and meet required ride restrictions.
  • 3 Guests are not permitted to save places in line or exit the line and return for any reason.
  • 4 All guests are required to wear shoes, shirts and shorts/pants while enjoying the rides and attractions.
