Open Monday, November 12

We are open today, and glad to see the air quality improving in San Jose. We are continuing to monitor current conditions, and sensitive groups are still advised to reduce prolonged or heavy exertion.

Thank you

Our hearts go out to those affected by the devastating wildfires, and we just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for supporting us throughout the unexpected closures over the weekend due to poor air quality. The health and safety of our guests, animals, and staff are always our top priority, so this decision was taken very seriously.

Honoring Veterans Weekend

We look forward to honoring veterans and active military members by extending our special to next Saturday, November 17 through Sunday, November 18. Those with valid ID can receive free admission, and family members will receive a $3 discount. We take great joy seeing the familiar faces of families who visit us every year to enjoy the holiday together.

Park & Zoo Updates

We also thought you might appreciate a quick update on our animals and staff.

Note from Kevin Hertell, Zoo Manager: “Our staff is committed to doing everything we can to keep our animals healthy and safe each and every day. During closures, staff wore masks, and our outdoor animals had access to their night houses. We kept a watchful eye on everyone, made modifications to our normal enrichment by providing stimuli that wouldn’t cause the animals to overexert themselves. It was especially important to keep them mentally stimulated so they could stay calm and comfortable as we waited for the air quality to improve.”

We look forward to your next adventure at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo.

Thank you again for your support, and thank you to all who have served.
